Waterbury HEALTH Colleagues to be Honored by Waterbury Regional Chamber

Waterbury Regional Chamber will honor Waterbury HEALTH colleagues at the 19th Annual Health Care Council Awards on Aug. 20.

Congratulations to the following Waterbury HEALTH colleagues:

Organizational Excellence Award: Behavioral Health, Addiction Services, and Crisis Intervention team at Waterbury HEALTH.

Made up of teams of therapists, psychiatrists, and social workers, the collaborative helps to treat more than 10,000 patients a year using a comprehensive approach to fix not just symptoms on the surface but also to address underlying problems. Recently, Waterbury HEALTH has been able to bring back the Open Access Program, which allows addiction disorder patients to get walk-in appointments when they need the help the most. For more than 30 years, the team has made it their mission to move patients from psychiatric and addiction barriers to high functioning, so they can serve the community.

 

Unsung Hero AwardsDr. Marc Raad, Alliance Medical Group

Dr. Raad, originally from Lebanon, has been practicing internal medicine in the Greater Waterbury area since 1986. He currently practices in Wolcott under the Alliance Medical Group. He is known for his generous and compassionate demeanor—helping individuals from all walks of life receive the care they need no matter the circumstances. On Tuesdays and Thursdays and can often be found at area nursing homes caring for ill, needy, or underserved. Always putting the patient first, Dr. Raad often arrives to his practice early in the morning to help patients whose schedules do not allow them to be seen later in the day.
