Meet Brittany

“I feel a true sense of teamwork, compassion, and urgency as soon as I walk into the ER.”

I have had the pleasure of working at Waterbury Hospital since 2017. My greatest memories have been made while working in the emergency department. I feel a true sense of teamwork, compassion, and urgency as soon as I walk into the ER. It was working in the ER that made me want to fulfill my calling and study to become a registered nurse.

Waterbury Hospital has a great opportunity for student nurses to work as student-trained aides. I've been able to gain a vast worth of knowledge to apply while in both my studies and clinicals.

One of my most recent memories was on a busy Saturday afternoon when a patient’s condition worsened within minutes. In that moment, staff sprang into action – techs performed CPR on the patient, and the nurses quickly accessed the code cart to administer medications to place the heart back into a sinus rhythm. Once we were able to stabilize the patient and get them transferred to ICU we all had a moment of reflection where we thanked one another for strong work to save a man’s life.

We have had our fair share of ups and downs, tears and laughs, but what makes us a strong department is the common goal to tend to our patient's health and practice patient-centered care.

Get to know us better.
